Lists like these are hard to compile because they can never be fully objective and because of the differences in era, generational differences make the reception of music a lot different. As tumultuous as some people felt like this was, it created a lot of interesting conversations about which artists were left off and which artists deserved more projects on the list.

President William Ruto of Kenya visited the United States this week and amongst all of the announcements made concerning the relationship between Kenya and the United States, one of the more interesting ones was Edtech Africa. This will be a program that will encourage relationships between HBCUs and universities in Kenya to promote STEM education and innovation. Partnerships such as these foster interscholastic relationships that can be the backbone of innovation for the United States, Kenya, and possibly the rest of the world.

Antiguan American author and professor Jamaica Kincaid released a children's book this week called An Encyclopedia of Gardening For Colored Children. This is her first children's book in almost four decades. A children's book about gardening, agriculture, and plants is important not only because even the mere knowledge of such things is beneficial, but also because Black and brown children, especially those from urban environments often don't get exposed to this kind of information.

It isn't often that films with Black leads are given big-budget film series. Last year more installments of the Bad Boys (Will Smith and Martin Lawrence) film franchise as well as the Beverly Hills Cop (Eddie Murphy) franchise were announced and in the last few days the trailers were released for both Bad Boys: Ride or Die and Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F. Bad Boys will receive a traditional theatrical release and Beverly Hills Cop will be released on Netflix.

On May 30, Crocs will be releasing their first-ever sneaker. The Juniper is designed by Salehe Bembury, who has been working with Crocs for a couple of years and has been steadily releasing collaborations with the brand. Although this sneaker has been teased since 2023, it will finally be available for purchase this week.
