WNBA will receive $200M per year in a new media deal. We've seen an increase in the popularity of the WNBA due to the incoming class of stars and the rising celebrity profiles of the already existing WNBA players. This has led to them finally having chartered flights for the teams and moving to larger stadiums to accommodate the growing interest. The current media deal is valued at $60 million per year so for the new one to go to $200 million a year is a major step and hopefully a sign of things to come as the WNBA continues to grow.

Young Thug has been on trial for about two years now and we're already on Judge number 3. The initial Judge was recused for ex-parte communications (basically when you have conversations you're not supposed to). The 2nd Judge recused herself because of a conflict It was confusing at first and the reports were all over the place, but it will all be explained here.

Nike is a cultural behemoth when it comes to the relationship between Black culture and Nike. We all know what it's like to get a new pair of sneakers and the feeling it brings. No matter our lifestyle, new sneakers are new sneakers. For a subsection of people though, they get inspired to create sneakers. If you're inspired a little too much by Nike, they'll make sure to let you know that you need to relax. They have never been shy about suing for trademark infringement.

The African American Cultural Heritage Action Fund (AACHAF) announced $3 million to preserve sites with significance to Black history. This organization was founded in 2017 and has raised $140 million. The funds will be used to cultivate spaces to engage with Black history.
The Stanley Museum became the first museum in the US to return Benin Bronzes to Nigeria. A lot of museums around the world have artifacts that have been taken from countries in Africa, so seeing this is a step in the right direction. Hopefully, other museums follow suit.

UC Santa Barbara and Tuskegee University have launched a pilot program for Black perspectives in television writing. UC Santa Barbara will have ten students from Tuskegee University will spend the summer at UC Santa Barbara taking classes in screenwriting.
South Sudan almost beats Team USA in Olympic exhibition game. The team was put together and coached by former NBA player Luol Deng. This is their first time in the Olympics and South Sudan is the youngest nation playing international basketball.
