Botswana Men’s Team
The 2025 World Athletics Championships in Tokyo were a showcase of Black athletic brilliance, delivering history-making performances across the board. Botswana lit up the track as Collen Kebinatshipi stormed to gold in the men’s 400 m with a blazing 43.53, joined on the podium by teammate Bayapo Ndori. Botswana’s men’s 4×400 m relay team cemented their place in history as the first African squad ever to win gold in the event, clocking 2:57.76 in wet conditions.
Kenya’s Lilian Odira stunned the field in the women’s 800 m, charging from behind to win in a personal best 1:54.62. In the U.S. camp, Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone continued to redefine greatness, winning the women’s 400 m in 47.78, just shy of the world record, before anchoring the victorious U.S. women’s 4×400 m relay team. Rai Benjamin delivered gold in the men’s 400 m hurdles after a dramatic reinstatement, while Trinidad & Tobago’s Keshorn Walcott claimed javelin gold with an 88.16 m throw.
Together, these performances were brilliant. From Africa to America, Black athletes are rewriting the record books and leaving an indelible mark on the global stage.

Jaden Smith
This week, rapper and creative Jaden Smith was named as the first-ever men's creative director for French fashion house Christian Louboutin. He’ll be in charge of everything from clothes to runway shows and events. This news came as a shock to the industry, largely because of what some perceive as another celebrity securing a creative director position over established industry professionals. Another common issue people seem to have is that Jaden Smith doesn’t have any real experience in fashion or managing something like Christian Louboutin. He does have a water company called JUST Water that has a goal of sustainability and access. He has founded a fashion company called MSFTSrep. It’s collaborated with New Balance, Roc Nation, and Selfridges. So he does seem to have some experience, and it’s never a bad idea to bring in fresh blood anywhere. We will reserve any judgment until his first caption collection is released in January. His full debut collection will be revealed during Men’s Fall/Winter 2026 Paris Fashion Week in January and in stores in May 2026.
