Happy Sunday! Whether you’re a new subscriber or an existing subscriber, welcome back. Here are a few articles you should check out from this week!

We hope this newsletter finds you well. Before we get started, we have a bit of housekeeping to deal with. For starters, this will be the first week where we begin both interviews and the book club. We’re excited to have conversations with interesting people and check out some new and old literature. As always, if you have any suggestions feel free to let us know. We’ve gotten a few already and will be getting to those when the time comes.
These last few months have been great. Providing quality content is important to us and your feedback has been vital to the success of Malindi Press. Starting in January 2025, we will be introducing premium content and adding a subscription cost to certain kinds of content. So for October to December we will be introducing a few things so that our loyal subscribers can see what they will be paying for as well as let us know what they’d like to see. For what we have planned for Malindi Press, this is a necessary direction. Don’t worry, there will be plenty of free content and the weekly email itself will always remain free. We plan on doing something special for existing subscribers and making sure if you want to be part of the premium subscription you receive a discount.
Now that we’ve settled that… To business? To business.

Black Ivy is a style of dress that's a derivative of the Ivy League aesthetic. Jazz musicians, civil rights activists, poets, and writers donned the Ivy League attire but added their twist.

His career involves active work both as a senior pastor dealing with adults and as a specialist in youth ministry. The role of the Black church in relation to Black culture and Black history is incalculable. But as times have evolved, so has the role and sentiment of the Black church also evolved. When exploring some of the nuances, leadership is a great place to start. Positive, negative, and everything in between we had a conversation with Dr. Brooks about culture, religion, and young people.
