Data from experiments in Denmark show real-world evidence of stable protection against HPV-related cervical cancer. This is important because in America, Black women are 41% more likely to develop cervical cancer than white women and 75% more likely to die from cervical cancer than white women. The reasons vary from mistrust to access. Historically, there has been a distrust in the Black community of the healthcare community, and the mistrust is valid based on various historic examples of exploitation of patients. Another issue is simply access. Rural neighborhoods in the United States don't have access to quality healthcare. So, a cure or protection is meaningless if the communities that need it the most lack access to it and don't trust the systems that can provide it. While a cure is great news, hopefully systemically things are done for both trust and distribution.

Damola Adamolekun

Damola Adamolekun took over as CEO of Red Lobster in August 2024 after the company filed for Bankruptcy. Since then, he has been doing everything in his power to revamp the once dying restaurant chain and bring it back into relevance. One of the ways he's doing this is by listening to the fans. In June, they introduced new things to the menu and the fans had a lot of thoughts and comments. Unlike most companies that ignore the noise, Damola Adamolekun listened and adjusted. This shows a commitment to the customers. On top of this, Red Lobster has been one of the most effective companies at using TV advertising to trigger customer engagement. Young leadership, quick adjustments, and being culturally aware have been key to Red Lobster's turnaround.

Trump’s EPA Cancelled 350 Environmental Justice Grants. Some of these grants were meant to deal with pollution issues in certain communities. Some of these issues could be fixed by infrastructure changes and different community programs. With the removal of these grants, this puts a lot of communities at risk since pollution leads to sickness. Usually, communities of color face more environmental dangers than other communities. A recent example is xAI’s South Memphis data center which residents have complained will hurt the community but their cries have fallen on deaf ears so far. For a community that already had a history of bad air quality, this data center added to the misfortunes. The NAACP announced a plan to sue the data center over such concerns. So for the EPA to cancel grants, cities can't even properly fight back against such threats and the protection from the federal government seems to be decreasing daily.
