Although some schools have discontinued their baseball programs since the championship was last held, hopefully, this news inspires some schools to reintroduce baseball to their sports. Also, this week, American sportswear company, Under Armour announced that they will be extending their exclusive apparel partnership with CIAA until 2029. About 2 years ago, McKinsey reported that Generative AI had the potential to widen the racial economic gap by $43 billion each year. If used the correct way the Black community can use the tools available to capitalize on what is to many, a new frontier. This week, YouTube announced that it will expand access to Generative AI creative tools for its users. The expansion will provide people with more tools to utilize AI for creating short clips. The creator economy is set to reach $500 billion by 2027 based on research by Goldman Sachs. Black creators should be mindful not to fall behind the curve when it comes to learning some of these new tools. With the implications they may have on video creation, editing, and writing, the room for opportunities to create sustainable businesses is wide and will be hard to ignore. Jumping in front of it sooner rather than later is vitally important.

While on the subject of AI, tech company Abridge added tools for inpatient clinicians and added features for outpatient orders. In January they launched a tool for emergency care, and their technology in general, is being used in more than 100 health systems. Note-taking and records have processes that AI has been used to make healthcare more efficient. AI has the potential to fill a lot of gaps when it comes to healthcare equity so we will do our best to keep you updated on how it has been deployed in the healthcare world. We have previously written about how AI can be used in rural America in places where people are less connected and have less access to quality care. Keeping abreast of some of these changes is important for both progress and access.

Forbes released their top 50 digital creators list this week and some prominent Black creators were featured. Druski and Khaby Lame were both in the top 10. Steven Bartlett, Marques Brownlee, and Kai Cent were also featured in the top 30 as well as a few more. As mentioned before, the creator economy is quickly expanding and the Black creators on this list spans across various industries including comedy, technology, and lifestyle.
