Happy Sunday! Whether you're a new subscriber or an existing subscriber, welcome back. Here are a few articles you should check out from this week!

Kendrick Lamar and Dave Free

In 2020, Kendrick Lamar and Dave Free launched pgLang. Since then, they've released multiple albums, films, music videos, and advertisements. Along with multiple awards, pgLang has sustained continued success over the last 5 years. This week, they announced another layer to their company. They launched a global creative agency called Project 3 Agency. The company will offer creative direction, content creation, production services, and brand design and strategy. It will be interesting to see where things go, but the work they've done speaks for itself.

Rich Paul, Klutch Sports

This week, Forbes released a list of the top 10 most valuable sports agencies. On the list were two Black owned agencies. Klutch Sports, founded by Rich Paul, ranked number 5. The estimated value of the contracts under Klutch Sports is $6.27 billion. Some athletes represented by Klutch Sports are LeBron James, A'ja Wilson, and Jalen Hurts. Roc Nation Sports, founded by Jay-Z, appears at number 7. The estimated value of the contracts under Klutch Sports is $2.14 billion. Roc Nation Sports represents athletes like LaMelo Ball, Skylar Diggins, and Vinicius Junior. Recently, they also announced expansion into Africa to represent the next generation of soccer stars.

Formula 1

Since the 1993 South African Grand Prix in Kyalami, there has never been a Formula 1 race in Africa. Recently, there have been efforts to end the 30-year drought and bring a Formula 1 race back to the continent. This week, Nigeria formally submitted its bid to host a Formula 1 Grand Prix. Ex-Premier League player Marvin Sordell, co-chief executive of Opus Racing, is leading the proposal. If successful, Nigeria will be the first West African country to host a race. That will cause Nigeria to immediately become the epicenter for motorsports in Africa. Hosting a Formula 1 race will positively impact tourism to the region as well as hopefully expose more people to the world of racing. Nigeria isn't the only African country that wants a race, though. Rwanda, South Africa, and Morocco have all expressed interest in hosting a Formula 1 Race.
