This week, Namibia elected its first female president in the country’s history. Although female leadership in Africa isn’t new, this will be a first for Namibia. Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah will look to address the growing wealth disparity in Namibia. Namibia is one of the world’s most unequal countries when it comes to economic opportunities and access to services and she is hoping to change that.
Sarah Kunst and Cleo Capital launched a remote cybersecurity accelerator. This accelerator will be a 12-week program and will make a $250,000 investment in exchange for 7% equity. Tech is advancing at such a pace that cybersecurity will be exponentially important year by year. The companies that can deal with the ever-growing group of threats will be in a prime position to capitalize and accelerators such as these will be the catalyst they need.
In 2020, Jerry Lorenzo and Adidas announced a long-term partnership. Since then, we haven’t heard very much. Although his brand Fear of God has seen continued success, his work with Adidas hasn’t reached the same heights. This week, Adidas announced the Fear of God Athletics II Basketball shoe. This is fresh off of Jerry Lorenzo announcing that Fear of God would have a multiyear partnership with the NBA and WNBA.

It’s no secret that Black media has issues with receiving advertising dollars which has been a focal point of a lot of conversations around inequities in media. This week, it was announced that a $10 billion dollar discrimination suit between mogul Byron Allen and McDonalds is headed to trial. The suit claims that McDonalds was discriminating by failing to allocate advertising dollars to Black-owned media.
Today, 7-time World Champion Lewis Hamilton raced his last race with Mercedes after 12 years, 246 races, and 6 championships with the team. He will be moving on to race for Ferrari next season.


On November 22, Netflix released its film adaptation of The Piano Lesson by August Wilson. Backed by a powerful cast and great direction, the film illustrated race, familial relationships, and religion. During the course of the film, the matriarch of the family, Berniece, played by Danielle Deadwyler, gives an impassioned speech.
