Across sub-Saharan Africa, with a growing population has come growing problems specifically in healthcare. The ratio of doctors to patients is 1:30k, the power is unreliable, medical records are a nightmare, and the internet connectivity is unstable. Often, countries import tech from abroad and try to implement it. And, often that doesn't work due to no input from healthcare workers on the ground and a possible high learning curve. In the TED talk below Soyapi Mumba, a software engineer, addresses some of these problems and speaks about the solutions he and his team have implemented.

How do you deal with the lack of connectivity? How do you ensure multiple hospitals have access to the same records? How do you keep information in a place where not everyone has a personal ID? All these and more questions are answered below in this informative TED talk.
