
Willow has been doing the rollout for Empathogen for a few weeks. Her Tiny Desk concert was a sneak peek into the world she’s creative which can be described as a very unique alternative sound. In a time where Black music is often relegated to Hip Hop and R&B, she may be on the cusp with a host of other artists to be part of a new wave of mainstream sounds.

Kamasi Washington isn’t new to music at all. An accomplished saxophonist, he’s worked with the likes of Kendrick Lamar, Run the Jewels, and Flying Lotus, and is the founding member of the jazz collective West Coast Get Down. Fearless Movement marks his fifth studio album and his first solo album since 2018.

4Batz seemingly came out of nowhere late last year. His rise was so sudden, that some people even accused him of being AI. He sounds like a mix between Bryson Tiller and R&B Drake, and the production lends to that comparison. This is his debut project and is a short listen.
